[nixcon@berlin:~]$ NixCon is a community-oriented conference and hackcentre for contributors and users of Nix and NixOS. It's about sharing experiences, inspiring people, discussing future development or just hanging out with fellow contributors. This is an event by the community for the community. We want to show that we are self-sufficient, and for that reason, there will be no sponsorships this time. We want to have a larger emphasis on workshops and on working together on problems we deeply care about. You can expect workshops and talks for beginners, intermediates, and pros alike. An open hackcentre where you can collaborate on your projects or just chill. Finally, a hackday during which you can work on important projects or just hang out with other Nix hackers.

Can I Get a Letter of Invitation for my Visa?

We’re happy to announce that we can issue a Letter of Invitation to all NixCon 2024 participants who need help with their visa. Just reach out to: orgateam@nixcon.org

We’ll provide you a template which you can fill out and send back to us for signature.

Do I need to prepare anything?

As you prepare for the event we’d like to encourage all attendees to download any important repos to their local machines and prepare their API-Keys beforehand as we will get rate limited by some organisations.

The Nix manual shows how to configure nix to use with access-tokens.

For GitHub for example we recommend a fine-grained token with no extra account permissions, as it will be only used for authentication purposes.
